Airport Markings and Communications
Airport Communications and Markings is an E-learning curriculum consisting of two modules. Module A covers communications, aircraft marshalling, and ATC light gun signals. Module B covers Airport signs, lighting, and markings.

Airport Communications and Markings is intended to be a prerequisite to undergoing aircraft engine run and taxi training. It can also be used as a standalone course to provide training to persons involved in aircraft ground handling.

Upon Completion of this course the learner will;

Be able to use and properly respond to aircraft marshalling hand signals.

Understand the difference between a controlled and a non controlled airport.

Understand proper radio use skills for ATC communication.

Understand the Aviation Phonetic Alphabet Understand how and what to communicate to ATC in the event of an emergency situation.

Understand ATC Light Gun signals and their meanings.

Be familiar with Airport Runway, Taxiway and Apron/Ramp markings.

Be able to interpret airport signs, and know their meanings.

Be familiar with various types of airport lighting.

Understand the importance of and the procedures for hold positions at the airport.
